Roman-Themed Suite Shoot

Here is some general information participants will find helpful!

The shooting days are Jan 15th-17th 2011 at the Best Western Coquitlam Inn & Convention Centre
319 North Road
Coquitlam, BC


Please note there are 2 Best Western Hotels in Coquitlam  and 1 in  Port Coquitlam so be sure you end up at the right one - on North Rd.   This is on the Coquitlam side of the Burnaby/Coquitlam border, a few blocks south of Lougheed Town Centre mall and Skytrain station.

HOTEL ENTRANCE FROM NORTH ROAD

• I have spaced the shoots 3 hours apart.  It is expected average shoot time will be 2 hours but there is room in case shoots go long
• Please arrive at your scheduled shooting time with the basics of hair and m/u already completed so no major blocks of shooting time are spent in that department
• Please allow 2-3 days for the first edited photos to be emailed to you.  This is due to the high volume of photographs I will have to sort out post shoot
• There is free parking at the hotel as there is a Pantry Restaurant inside the hotel
• The nearest Skytrain Station to the hotel is Lougheed Town Centre.  It is a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel
• There are 2 Roman-themed suites at the hotel and I will not know which one I am in until I check in. As noted prior I will text you the room number before your shoot so you know which room to go to.

About The Set:
This small-apartment sized suite (450 SF) is made up in a Roman theme and makes for an original and captivating setting that is hard to duplicate in a studio.  It features a king sized 4 pillar bed with a sheer curtain surround and 2 person jetted tub.    (see photo samples below)


Styles & Wardrobe:
This theme works well with single females and M/F and F/F couples so if you wish to shoot a duet this is not a problem.
The wardrobe is to be playful, fun and tastefully intimate.  Examples of such include cocktail dresses, evening gowns, lingerie, underwear, pajamas, bath wear and lounge wear etc.  This can be in a traditional style or spiced up with elements of  alternative and the like.   Both male and female models should be comfortable with some element of upper body exposure- even if this is to not appear in the finished photo. 
The desired image themes will focus on concepts from romantic and lighthearted frolics to seductive and sensual concepts.
Poses and styles will be customized to each individuals strengths and comfort zone.


The models are to provide their own wardrobe, hair and make up for this project.  The style of make up is up to the individual and can be simple to elaborate.


If you wish to bring props and accessories like pillows, sheets, flowers, wigs, jewelery or anything else that will personalize your shoot you are certainly welcome to.
You are also welcome to bring an escort to the shoot provided he/she has no negative effect on the model. 

About The Photographer:  My name is Tommy (tom or thomas also works) and I shoot under the tag of Bluecave Photographic Arts.  I have been shooting scenic photography for 5 years and portrait work for 3 years.  I am proud to use Nikon bodies and lenses for all my work.  I currently live in Chilliwack, BC with my tuxedo cat Paddington and a couple of strays that have adopted me.  I am well respected, very easy to work with and all my models have a great time on set.
